Maplewood Farm

We both took some time off from work to try to finish the basement in preparation for Ed but we also wanted to spend some quality time with Tallan whom we see so little of during the week. We decided to kick off our renovation vacation by taking a trip to Maplewood Farm on Saturday.

First up on the viewing fun is petunia pig. Daddy helps lower Tallan over the fence to feel her prickly hairs.

Tallan waves hello to a flock of chickens running about and into some nearby bushes.

Tallan gets up close and personal with a minature hen who is taking a break on a nearby park bench with Mommy.

Next, we head off to the goat play yard and Tallan cautiously pets some friendly goats.

Soon Tallan is flanked by friendly goats and gets a little nervous...

Daddy comes to the rescue and puts Tallan on his knee until he gets a little more comfortable.

Soon Tallan is climbing goat hill and petting goats like the neighbourhood dogs...

Goat riding, however, is still a no go.

In the "Rabitat" pen, Tallan has trouble feeding the rabbits. He has little patience for the bunnies who weren't really eating because they were already overfed, AND, Tallan kept trying to put baby carrots up the bunnies' noses rather that in their mouths.

And of course, our little man always manages to find a waterpark wherever we are. Here he finds this little fountain in the tropical greenhouse. It's hot and difficult to keep him from trying to dive into the fountain. Here he's trying to distract Daddy by pointing away from the water.
