Our 2 Week "Holiday"

So again we couldn't afford to take a vacation this year - even though we are both working :( Our 2 week renovation holiday wasn't as fruitful in the renovation department as we had hoped, but we did enjoy having a little time off and more time with Tallan whom we miss dearly. The 2.5/3 hours a night I have with him just isn't enough! So we've blown our budget and we haven't even scratched the surface of our renos yet. Thankfully Dad came over and helped us with some framing, making it the cheapest part of our renos. So...almost $3000 later....

We did make it to the zoo, although it was too much for Tallan and Mommy to walk. Tallan was beat by 12pm when we left and he fell asleep in the car with a french fry and McNugget in his hand.

He did seem to enjoy himself - looking at all the animals. It was probably mind bloggling - so many things to see!

We also made a day trip to the aquarium where Tallan spent some time in this kids area where the displays were much closer to the ground. On that same note, Tallan didn't hesitate to get on the ground and drink out of mysterious puddles. No we didn't take pictures - we were too busy pulling him away to avoid some terrible strain of dolphin fever or something!

This is Daddy's favourite picture of professor Tallan.

Tallan and Grandpa enjoying a refreshing drink after all the hard reno work!

I bought Tallan this inflatable Dino Pool off craigslist for $10. It's a bit bigger than the $2 pool we got him last summer from the dollar store and he likes it just as much :)

Daddy likes it too and tried to get it but was way too big for it. So, he soaks his feet in defeat. Tallan thinks it's a great idea and does a little foot soaking himself.

Then our little Houdini tries to find a short cut into our backyard through the balcony rails.

Actually Tallan's favourite thing to do in to get into the pool with our watering can, fill it up, and water our balcony. Occasionally he will also water our plants. Here we have our naked gardener.
