Christmas

We were able to enjoy Christmas early this year with Tallan's preschool getting us a skookum deal on a visit to Grouse mountain. For $5 each adult and free for the kids, we were able to go to the Top of Grouse via the Gondola (regularly $40 each), get free skate rentals at the outdoor skating rink, ride a giant sleigh pulled by a snow tractor, and visit Santa and his reindeer!

We wish we could have Elisa in this Santa picture, but despite her not screaming, she did not trust Santa and would not let him touch her. Oh well - some how Santa got her list anyway :)

It was especially cool to see Santa's reindeer out by his workshop. It felt totally surreal!

Also a really big hit with Tallan was lying down and sinking his face into the snow and eating it. He really liked sliding down this steep snowy hill. Unfortunately, Daddy didn't enjoy hiking back up carrying a 30 lb toddler as much. And then 2 toddlers. Thank goodness for Daddy - I wouldn't have gotten up that hill by myself!



We were back on the island for Christmas this past year and there was an insane amount of gift opening to do! We were all spoiled again.

Elisa is checking inside her boots to figure out what her gift is. If you want to see this girl smile and say "hooray!" you have to give her chocolate.


This one is actually Elisa's gift from my nephew, but they were farm animals that made animal noises when you squeezed them so it was quickly adopted by Tallan. Those adorable animal chairs you see in the background were from great, great auntie Lin who finds the most unique gifts available! They are still in the livingroom and Elisa can almost get in and out of one by herself.

Yup - Tallan needed one of these to bring his toys home from the island! Yes, the kids got way more gifts than these few pics, but our camera flash was too bright and most of the pics weren't discernable so I didn't bother posting them. Believe me - they got much more than their Christmas list!

Now that is one happy face!

Taking down Christmas seem to be just as fun for the kids. Especially when daddy sealed them inside the Christmas tree box and spun them around the livingroom. Thank goodness for daddies. Mommy would never think of something so fun.

This one...doesn't really have to do with Christmas...except I suppose that is a nativity set in the background...Just wanted to share the some of the chuckles we get every day living with our little comedian.


Elisa adopted a Canucks toque found at grandma's house and may be the cutest canuck "fan" ever!
