We decided to stay home for Christmas this year and start some of our own family traditions. It'll take time to find out what we're going to do, but it was really nice to relax and be at home anyway. We had family visit but it was mostly quiet this year. Next year, it will be great to be back on the island with two busy toddlers :)
We bought a new tree this year, too - our old Charlie Brown tree just didn't do it for us anymore. Our new tree is huge - 5 feet across and 7.5 feet high! But, just like at mom's house on the island, it was ridiculously full of gifts. We were spoiled again this year!!
We also had a chance to have dinner with Tony, Nirm, and the girls just before they left for Christmas. They had an absurd amount of santa hats there...their house was just brimming with Christmas cheer :) This Santa hat made for an adorable Elisa.

Can you say, next year's calendar? Hello Miss December.

Tallan got some hotwheels from auntie Nirm and uncle Tony to add to his treasure pile of gifts :)

And had some fun playing peek-a-boo with auntie Nirm.

At our house, we hung the stockings mom and nana made for us with care...on clothing hangers.

On Christmas morning, there was a stocking explosion!

I got more socks than the Fruit of the Loom factory.

Mike got his share of socks...and a jar of nutella in the toe of his stocking. No healthy japanese oranges here!!

Tallan's stocking included a pair of Cookie Monster slippers.

Elisa's stocking was full of baby treats...

Enough to break out into a dance of joy!

Lots of hugs and kisses were shared...

The kids were falling over with excitement. So much to look at and touch and play with!

Tallan and Elisa (and us too for that matter) were completely spoiled. Here are just some pics we took of the many things they got for Christmas!
A baby grand piano from auntie Amy,

Sleep sacs from grandma for Elisa,

Mike got a snuggie...

Grandma made Tallan some Cars bed sheets that he loved so much, he stopped opening gifts and took them upstairs to his bed.

Grandma got Elisa an Ocean Wonders bouncy chair that she loved right away :) And the best part is Tallan doesn't sit in it!! No fighting over her chair :)

Mom got us a Kitchen Aid mixer. Mike has been baking up a storm already!

Tallan is ecstatic about this Pixar book set he got - he wants to look at the pictures and have us read the books all day long!

There was a new kitchen to play with downstairs...

We got Elisa a Radio Flyer Bouncy horse...

But Tallan enjoys it, too!

Tallan got a Radio Flyer tricycle so it's off to the races...with a horse and a bike.

Mike looks like a monk in his snuggie... or maybe a character from Star Wars...
