Weekend on the Island & Some July Pics

The first long weekend of July brought us over to the island for Dad's wedding. It was nice weather - a welcome break from all the rain that preceeded it. We stayed at Grandma's house and had a great dinner as usual. And, of course, our visit was blessed with more gifts for the kids including this adorable giraffe pool from nana.

There was lots of hugs and love to go around for Tallan and Elisa :)

Lots of hot tub fun in grandma's amazingly clean hot tub!

And here is our hot tub beauty!

Something was finger licking good on the beach at dad's wedding...but I'm afraid it wasn't the roast pork. Hmmm....

I had to put Elisa down for a nap, and I am not sure where Mike had to run off to, but he left Danielle with our camera to snap away. We had some interesting pictures until she broke our camera trying to take a picture of Nirm's butt. Before that, we were able to take a picture of the bride and groom - Tallan isn't quite sure where to stand...nor does he appear too happy to be asked to pose for yet another picture. Man, if only he remembered the hundreds of pictures he endured in his first year!!

Elisa falls in love with the couch...

This is Elisa's new "I'm so excited" face! You wouldn't know it, though, because it looks more like the "angry Easter Bunny".

Elisa loves to join her brother at the water table on hot days when we are not at the park.

Tallan always gets soaked at the water table and we end up stripping him down. The nudity lent itself quick naturally to our version of the naked chef.

Tallan is much better at sharing his toys with Elisa but he does believe the best way of playing with toys is to have them all dumped out on her lap.

And some placed gently in her hair...

Sweet Elisa playing with my keys...trying to escape the mess, I bet.

But sweet, mild Elisa is not immune to her own "moments" - here daddy puts her in time out.

But that doesn't dampen her spirits one bit.

But does she gets bored quickly. "I'm sure this is how they get out of here..."

Hello down there, my darling! Aren't you just adorable in another one of your sundresses? How I love summer days.

Tallan attempts the splits when he hears we're headed for Dairy Queen. Mike's son, indeed!

"Where's my ice-cream?"

Elisa works on her telekinesis....

while daddy tries to protect his blizzard from over-eager hands.

It's not the same as going out with papa, but Tallan and Elisa try their hand at a bit of fishing :) Thank goodness nana and papa sent us some yummy halibut because we're really tired of eating brightly coloured plastic fish!
